Quartz Properties Partners with Lutheran Services Carolinas to Hire Local Workers in Asheville

Quartz Properties has teamed up with Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) to enhance workforce opportunities for Ukrainian immigrants in Asheville, North Carolina. Through a partnership facilitated by LSC’s Employer Engagement grant from the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Quartz Properties has hired a skilled crew of Ukrainian workers under its subsidiary, Quartz Transport.

LSC’s Employer Engagement program offers employer-supported training, on-site ESL classes, personalized job coaching, and technical assistance to both refugees and their employers. Leveraging this support, Quartz Transport has created a training program specific to those tasks required to install and finish manufactured and modular homes.

David Roover, Chief Growth Officer of Quartz Properties, shares:

“It’s been a pleasure working with our new employees. I see the American dream in them: they have a great attitude, and they work hard. LSC is helping us translate our training materials into Russian, and we have already elevated one employee to a supervisory role. The construction industry nationwide is understaffed, and this program has been a real boost to our business.”

The partnership has been a wonderful opportunity to employ local talent and cultivate a highly skilled crew at Quartz Transport. Quartz Properties would like to thank Lutheran Services Carolinas for allowing us to execute this mutually beneficial partnership, helping us grow our business while investing in the local community.
