Quartz Properties is pleased to announce a new development of 36 mountain modern homes in Poncha Springs, Colorado. The project, called Quartz at Poncha Meadows, will be built using modular construction. The team expects to break ground in December 2021 and complete Phase 1 homes in the Spring of 2022.

Quartz is thrilled to bring attainably priced housing to the region using modular construction. Maximizing time and resources, the modular method means homes are built in factories then shipped to home sites and set on permanent foundations for on-site completion. Modular construction offers several benefits, including less site disruption and advanced quality control. The homes are built to the same standards as stick-built homes and considered more eco-friendly.

Quartz is partnering with Fading West Development to serve as both the modular factory and on-site General Contractor. Fading West will build the homes in their new state-of-the-art factory in Buena Vista, CO, and perform the final construction on-site. EVstudio, a full-service design firm headquartered in Denver, is the project architect.

Poncha Meadows is designed as a ‘pocket community,’ in that most homes backup to shared green space. The pocket community consists of two blocks, comprised of 36 homes that form an organic community atmosphere. The houses range from 1,300 sq ft to 2,048 sq ft and aim to meet the needs of a diverse set of homebuyers across Chaffee County.

“Quartz at Poncha Meadows is a fantastic opportunity for us to expand from the East Coast into Colorado and continue our goal of bringing high-quality, attainably priced homes to underserved markets using modular construction,” Quartz Properties CEO, Joanna Schwartz.

The Poncha Meadows project enables Quartz and Fading West to showcase the benefits and potential of modular construction on a broader scale. Quartz views modular construction as a solution to the current labor and housing crisis and continues to expand as the only home builder with a national focus committed exclusively to modular construction.
